Gabeba Baderoon

Gabeba Baderoon is author of the poetry collections The Dream in the Next Body and A Hundred Silences, as well as the monograph, Regarding Muslims: from Slavery to Post- Apartheid. She received the Daimler Award for South African Poetry and held the Guest Writer Fellowship at the Nordic Africa Institute. She codirects the African Feminist Initiative at Pennsylvania State University where she is Associate Professor of Women’s Studies and African and African American Studies. She is an Extraordinary Professor of English at Stellenbosch University and a Fellow of the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study
