Chekwube O. Danladi
Chekwube Danladi is a writer and a reformed punk. Her forthcoming debut collection, semiotics, was selected by Evie Shockley as the winner of the 2019 Cave Canem poetry prize (University of Georgia Press, fall 2020). She has received support from Callaloo, Kimbilio, Hedgebrook, the Lambda Literary Foundation, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing. From Lagos by way of West Baltimore, Chekwube is based in Chicago and teaches in the writing department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the author of the chapbook “Take Me Back,” included in New-Generation African Poets: A Chapbook Box Set (Nne).
