Victor Ehikhamenor
Victor Ehikhamenor is an artist, photographer, and writer born in the village of Udomi-Uwessan, Nigeria. He has had numerous exhibitions in Nigeria, the United States, Europe, and Asia. His short-fiction piece “Madam” and his drawings “Postcards from Italy” were part of the German pavilion at the 56th la Biennale di Venezia art exhibition curated by Okwui Enwezor in 2015. Ehihamenor was the creative director of the award-winning Next newspapers in lags, where he also wrote the satirical column “Excuse Me!” In 2013 he collaborated with the celebrated Nigerian fashion designer Ituen Basi to create the eclectic Ekemini collection which has been featured in Vogue Itali and the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. In 2015 he started a peace initiative called Ink Not Blood, using art, writing, cartoons, and lectures to promote national peace in Nigeria. He maintains a studio in Lagos, Nigeria and Maryland, United States.
