Amu Nnadi’s third collection of poetry, through the window of a sandcastle, was published by Parrésia (Origami Books, 2013) and was short listed for the $100,000 Nigeria Prize for Literature in the same year. It, later that year, won the Association of Nigerian Author’s Prize for Poetry and won the 2014 Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry.
Caine Prize winning author, Rotimi Babatunde, has this to say about Amu Nnadi’s poetry: “The hallmarks of amu nnadi’s nuanced artistry. . . include the poet’s virtuosic handling of verbal music, his alertness for the startling detail, his precision of utterance and his transformative use of basic everyday words; however, the bewitching poetic alchemy amu nnadi brings to bear on human experience transcends the mere sum of the elements composing it.”
